CO2 Gas Fire Suppression System

Description

The HPCO2 fire suppression system uses carbon dioxide (CO2) stored under high pressure in cylinders. CO2 is a clean gaseous extinguishing agent that is non-conductive and leaves no residue or corrosion, making it suitable for areas with electrical equipment, industrial machinery, electrical panels, machine rooms and enclosed storage (normally unoccupied areas). It is a highly effective system with a simple design and low investment cost.

Extinguishing principle

Discharged CO2 rapidly lowers the oxygen concentration to below 14%, so the flame can no longer sustain combustion. At the same time, the CO2 expands and cools sharply, absorbing heat and lowering the temperature of the fire zone to extinguish the fire completely. Because CO2 is an asphyxiant in enclosed spaces, this system is used in normally unoccupied areas and must be fitted with warning alarms and a discharge time delay to keep people safe.
