S55
IG-55 (N₂, Ar) Inert Gas Fire Suppression System
Description
The IG-55 fire suppression system uses a blend of 50% argon and 50% nitrogen – naturally occurring inert gases that are safe for occupants at design concentration and environmentally friendly. IG-55 extinguishes fires rapidly without damaging electronic equipment and leaves no residue, with no impact on the ozone layer and no greenhouse effect. The system operates automatically and can be configured flexibly for server rooms, data centers, control rooms, archives, electrical substations and other critical facilities.
Working principle
The IG-55 system works by lowering the oxygen concentration in the protected space below the level needed to sustain combustion (approximately 12–14%), while remaining safe for occupants. When a fire is detected, the system automatically opens the discharge valves and releases the argon (Ar) and nitrogen (N₂) blend through the pipe network into the fire zone. Argon is denser than air, so the agent spreads and covers the entire fire zone – including low and concealed areas – to ensure complete extinguishment.
Key advantages of IG-55 (N₂, Ar)
Complete coverage of the fire zone
The agent distributes evenly and fills voids, reaching concealed areas and low-level fires throughout the protected space.
Safe for people
IG-55 extinguishes fire within seconds by lowering the oxygen concentration, while keeping it at a level that is safe for people in the area.
Fully environmentally friendly
A blend of naturally occurring gases (argon and nitrogen) with no impact on the ozone layer and no greenhouse effect, meeting the “zero ODP & GWP” criterion.

Safe for equipment and assets
Non-conductive, residue-free and non-corrosive – ideal for server rooms, data centers, electrical panels and transformer substations.
Flexible configuration, optimized investment cost
The system can be designed to protect a single independent zone or multiple linked zones sharing the same cylinder bank, saving space and long-term cost.
Stable and durable over time
IG-55 does not decompose and needs no periodic replacement; its long storage life reduces system maintenance costs.
