S541
IG-541 (N₂, Ar, CO₂) Inert Gas Fire Suppression System

Description

The IG-541 system uses a blend of naturally occurring gases: 52% nitrogen (N₂), 40% argon (Ar) and 8% carbon dioxide (CO₂). It is a clean agent system with no impact on the ozone layer, it does not corrode equipment, and it is safe for occupants of the protected area at design concentration. IG-541 is widely used in server rooms, data centers, electrical panels, archives and other high-value areas that require the highest level of protection.

Working principle

When the system is activated, the IG-541 blend is discharged rapidly in under 60 seconds, lowering the oxygen concentration from ~21% to approximately 12–14% – enough to stop combustion while remaining safe for occupants. The CO₂ in the blend stimulates breathing and reduces the risk of hypoxia, while argon (Ar), being denser than air, helps the agent spread evenly and cover the entire fire zone, extinguishing the fire completely without leaving residue or damaging equipment.

Key advantages of IG-541 (N₂, Ar, CO₂)

Superior extinguishing performance

The blend of three naturally occurring gases (N₂, Ar, CO₂) rapidly lowers the oxygen concentration, extinguishing the fire completely with no re-ignition.

Safe for people

IG-541 maintains the minimum oxygen level needed to sustain life, and the CO₂ in the blend stimulates breathing so occupants can evacuate safely during discharge.

Even distribution and full coverage

Because its argon (Ar) component is denser than air, IG-541 spreads quickly and evenly throughout the space, ensuring complete fire suppression – even in concealed areas.

No damage to equipment

An inert, non-conductive, non-corrosive and residue-free agent – full protection for machinery, electrical panels and electronic components.

Environmentally friendly

IG-541 is a blend of naturally occurring gases containing no halocarbons, with ODP = 0 and GWP ≈ 0 – no impact on the ozone layer and no greenhouse effect.

Optimized operating and refilling costs

Easy to refill; the agent does not decompose and needs no periodic replacement, and its long storage life reduces system maintenance costs.
