Description

The SMSE-227/5112 system, researched and developed by S-TEC VINA, is designed specifically for electrical rooms, electrical service tunnels and small areas where automatic water, powder or foam fire suppression systems are not suitable, as well as any area that requires automatic fire suppression in general and clean agent fire suppression in particular. The SMSE-227/5112 system uses either of two extinguishing agents: HFC-227ea (FM-200) or FK-5-1-12 (Novec 1230). The agent is stored in the cylinder as a liquefied gas, super-pressurized with nitrogen to 25 bar. It is a colorless, odorless, electrically non-conductive clean agent that is safe for people at design concentration and leaves no residue after discharge. HFC-227ea (FM-200) / FK-5-1-12 (Novec 1230) dissipates naturally some time after discharge and does not damage electrical or electronic equipment.

Working principle

SMSE-227/5112 cylinders charged with HFC-227ea (FM-200) / FK-5-1-12 (Novec 1230) are actuated by the automatic fire alarm system. When fire signals are received from two separate detection circuits or two different detector types, the extinguishing release control panel energizes the solenoid valve to release the agent. Once the solenoid valve is actuated, the agent is discharged through the nozzle to extinguish the fire. The 180° discharge nozzle, with a 5 m protection distance and mounted on the cylinder valve, discharges the agent when the cylinder is actuated.
